Join us to create art and raise money for SURJ's fall fundraising campaign! The event will be in the Cambrian area near Foxworthy and Union; email jennifermyhre@1500stories.org to RSVP and get the exact address.
This is a very special Cover Charge for Justice event, as members of the Resistance Choir will be coming to teach us about the tradition of protest singing and teach us to sing several protest songs ourselves. You do NOT need to be an accomplished or even a confident singer to come to this event. In fact, protest songs are designed so that even non-singers can sing them with gusto!
The practice of collective singing can be an empowering act that both requires courage, as you are literally asked to USE YOUR VOICE on behalf of racial justice, *and* one that can deepen the solidarity of a group, as we learn to blend our voices with others and that our collective voice is stronger than our individual voices.
