We're not gonna let shelter-in-place stop us from holding our next Cover Charge for Justice (via Zoom, of course)! Join us for a Social Justice Collage workshop on Saturday May 16th from 2-4pm. Collage is an especially welcoming medium for the artistically shy or intimidated. Everyone can rip paper and use paste! :) We will make collages together that we will snail mail to our elected officials as a strategy to try to cut through the noise of the floods of emails and phonecalls they receive. Plus, collage is a great way to process your feelings and is fun for the whole family. Most folks will already have at home the core supplies: paper, some kind of glue/paste/glue stick, and old print materials. Other supplies that are fun to use (but not necessary): index cards, old wrapping paper or stationary, children's drawings, crayons, markers, colored pencils, doodles, etc. As usual, "cover charge" is from $5 to infinity (but no one will be turned away for lack of funds) and we encourage folks to give generously because all proceeds will go into SURJ's safety net for all fundraising campaign for people who have been left out of the federal stimulus aid. Think like an organizer and invite something you think is ripe for what SURJ has to offer! :) RSVP at https://bit.ly/socialjusticecollage to get the Zoom link and password.
