The SURJ @ Sacred Heart Art and Culture Working Group brings the revolutionary practice of art and the creative spirit into our organizing at every stage, and contributes to the cultural work of our chapter to further the cause of dismantling white supremacy.

We do this by:

• Developing and leading a regular series of community and creative skills building workshops called Make Art Make Justice, open to all!

• Taking on other art or creative needs for SURJ, such as graphic design, signmaking, postcard making, posters, digital storytelling (audio/video/photography), artwork, music, forum theater, and cultural production.

• Developing leadership within our group to empower its members to create, lead, and help shape the thinking of our work together from the perspective of the creative process.
