CALLING ALL THESPIANS
We'll be spending some of the meeting supporting a super fun performance action we have planned for next week. RECS and SURJ - led by Derrick Sanderlin - are putting together a delicious morsel of guerilla-comedy-theater-activism will be Thursday, Jan 20th @ 3pm, and we need help spreading the word and signing up extras (or even featured roles!). Those of you with acting and theater backgrounds and interests - please come! We could really use your knowledge of the SJ performance scene to make this ROCK.
DREAMING BIG
Also, we'll brainstorm together projects for 2022 that take advantage of the generous possibility of S P A C E we have from deepened organizational relationships. We have the rooms, now, what are we going to build in them?

Our motto:
When we make art we make change.
We know that art is revolutionary practice.
Create the Change.
Share the joy.
Just try.
The most important thing is to get started.
The SURJ @ Sacred Heart Art and Culture Working Group brings the revolutionary practice of art and the creative spirit into our organizing at every stage, and contributes to the cultural work of our chapter to further the cause of dismantling white supremacy.
We do this by:
Developing and leading a regular series of community and creative skills building workshops called Make Art Make Justice, open to all!
Taking on other art or creative needs for SURJ, such as graphic design, signmaking, postcard making, posters, digital storytelling (audio/video/photography), artwork, music, forum theater, and cultural production.
Developing leadership within our group to empower its members to create, lead, and help shape the thinking of our work together from the perspective of the creative process
