Inspired by the Cornel West line, let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day by lifting up the voices of BIPOC poets. We’ll have links to share for you to read a poem. Or share your own music or poetry.
This event is a reparations-based fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $7700. In 1862, President Lincoln paid slave OWNERS (yes, you read that right) $300 each as compensation for the Emancipation Proclamation. Today that would be equivalent to $7700.
