Button Making Party (hosted by the SURJ Art & Culture Working Group and our partners)

  • Sacred Heart Community Service 550 South 1st Street San Jose, CA, 95113 United States (map)

The SURJ Art and Culture Working Group usually meets on the second Monday of each month at 7pm.  However, this month we are co-hosting a special event with our partner committees at Sacred Heart Community Service—a Button Making Party from 5:30-7:30pm. We will be using a button press to make lots and lots of buttons that all of the organizing committees can use as giveaways when we are tabling for our campaigns. You don't need to identify as an artist to come to this event (or to join this working group!)  All are welcome.  We will be meeting at the SoFA Arts District location of Sacred Heart Community Service, at 550 S. First Street (right between the Institute for Contemporary Art and the Veggielution demonstration garden, and across from the Parque de Los Pobladores. There is a small parking lot in the back with parking for people with disabilities and a wheelchair accessible door. Street parking out front on 1st Street is no longer metered after 6pm; 2nd street in the back has non-metered 2 hour parking all of the time. There are many bus stops nearby and we’re not too far from light rail either.   Enter the building from First Street. Email jenm@sacredheartcs.org if you have any questions.
