Sacred Heart Community Service, the secular anti-poverty organization that supports our chapter, offers regular trainings in aspects of community organizing. The next one will be about basebuilding--practical tools for how to invite new people into racial justice work. These trainings are free and both lunch and childcare are provided. The August one will be especially great for folks who are new to organizing. Also, we will be supporting our partners in PASOS by doing outreach for their Aging with Dignity campaign that day.Registration is open for the next Sacred Heart Organizing Institute in person at Sacred Heart Community Service (1381 S. First St at Alma) from 9:30am-4:30am on Saturday August 19th. If you know folks that you would like to invite, please share this website with them: www.sacredheartcs.org/shoi. Email jenm@sacredheartcs.org if you have any questions.
