Our accountability partners in Race Equity and Community Safety and Survivors of the Street at Sacred Heart Community Service have asked us to push back on further criminalization of homelessness.  We are asking YOU to tell the City NO to encampment zones and YES to housing solutions and community dialogue.  The city will be discussing this as agenda item C.1 at the Rules and Open Government Committee meeting that starts at 2pm on Wednesday August 9th.  You can attend in person in Council chambers at 200 E Santa Clara Street in SJ or on Zoom.  If you know you absolutely cannot attend in person, you can email your written comment today (city.clerk@sanjoseca.gov).  Please cc your own councilmember if you live in San Jose and bcc makingmyvoiceheard@sacredheartcs.org.
