SURJ is hosting its first Open Mic Night on October 25th 2019, 6:30-8:30pm at Sacred Heart Community Service in the Learning Center. Come sing or play music or read poetry!! If you don't sing, play music or write poetry then you have HOMEWORK: pick out a poem or two from your favorite POET OF COLOR to read at the event. And we will have signmaking supplies to have in the back of the room during the event in case you want to make signs for the November 5th City Council meeting while you listen. This event is the next in our ongoing Cover Charge for Justice fundraising series of creative skills and community building workshops. Cover charge is from $5 to infinity (but no one will be turned away for lack of funds!). Proceeds will be shared with the Rapid Response Network Accompaniment Fund and Silicon Valley De-Bug.
