The Housing Issue Group usually meets on the 4th Monday of each month, but because August started on a Monday, we’re pushing back one week. This meeting will be in a special format—we are going to read together (and see as far as we can get) in the San Jose Housing Element (chapter 3 and appendix B) and then in the last 10 minutes we will share out our takeaways. You are welcome to join us regardless of whether you have ever attended a Housing Issue Group meeting before.

SURJ believes Housing Justice is Racial Justice. The Housing Issue Group follows our Accountability Partners to support their work for renters’ rights and other issues that impact people who do not control their own housing situation in Santa Clara County. Right now we will be exploring how we can support Survivors of the Street and the Sacred Heart Housing Action Committee at Sacred Heart Community Service.
