After a year of SURJers showing up in solidarity with the San Jose Unified Equity Coalition (SJUEC), we won police-free schools in San Jose Unified- on June 24th the SJUSD Board voted 3-2 to end the daytime School Resource Officer (cops on campus) program through December. This Thursday December 9th at 6 pm, SJUSD will consider a new agreement (MOU) with SJPD. SJUEC wants the Board to amend the MOU with the recommendations from the community that would strengthen protections for students.
