Make Art Make Justice: Linocut Printing (IN PERSON)

  • Sacred Heart Community Service 1381 South 1st Street San Jose, CA, 95110 United States (map)

Make Art Make Justice is an ongoing series of community and creative skills building workshops. They are a great place to meet other SURJers, work alongside them, and learn new creative skills that we can use in our work to further racial justice locally. You don’t need to identify as an artist or craftsperson or creative to have a good time at these workshops. Please RSVP at https://bit.ly/SURJmakeartmakejusticemarch2023

We’ll learn the basics of linocut printing. We’ll carve and print postcard size images to use in our campaigns. All are welcome! You do NOT need to have any previous experience with linocut printing to join us.

We will be doing this in the courtyard (weather permitting) at Sacred Heart Community Service (1381 S. First Street). The entrance to the parking lot is off of Alma and the entrance you will be using is at the back of the building, nearest to First Street. Masks are mandatory inside the building. Sacred Heart Community Service has bus stops very close and is a 10 minute walk from the Tamien light rail station. The building is wheelchair accessible.
