Repairing the World Together: Quarterly SURJ Convening of Faith Racial Justice Champions

  • Sacred Heart Community Service 1381 South 1st Street San Jose, CA, 95110 United States (map)

SURJ hosts quarterly gatherings for people whose faith compels them to racial justice. The goal of these convenings is to strengthen the network of faith racial justice champions across the south bay. Register for this gathering here. We are on this journey together and have a lot to learn from one another.  Let's meet each other and break bread (i.e. cookies ) together!  And let's deepen our skills so that we can leverage our moral authority to move our elected officials towards concrete racial justice policies.

  • When: Sunday, November 5th 3-5pm

  • Where: Sacred Heart Community Service at 1381 S. First Street in San Jose, in the outdoor courtyard (weather permitting)

  • Who's invited: You, but also anyone from the racial/social justice/social action committee in your faith community (please feel free to forward this invitation)

  • Why: To build a tighter web of racial justice allies

Sacred Heart Community Service is wheelchair accessible.  We mask indoors to keep our community safe.  It is bus accessible and a 15 minute walk from the Tamien light rail station.  There is free parking onsite and also free street parking available on Alma Court.  However, we especially encourage carpooling with other members of your faith community because this is an excellent way to "bring folks in."  If you drive, you’ll enter the parking lot from Alma Street and the building from the back Volunteer entrance closest to First Street.
